THE HOUSE
70 square meters house in a new building on two levels. When entering, you find a living room with a welcoming, colourful and accurately furnished kitchen. Going up few steps, you reach the night area, formed by two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, WC. The main bedroom is art deco styled with a wooden loft that may be reached through a wooden staircase. The smaller bedroom is ‘800 style furnished.
THE LOCATION
The CASA VACANZA TOSCANA (Tuscany Holiday Home), familiarly named “CASINA AL MONTE” (Little home on the hill) is castled under a wide “oliveto” (olive trees yard), between Pisani hills and the Serchio river.The Casina al Monte is situated close Vecchiano, a typical rural Tuscany village, placed among cultivated fields and where the time seems to have arrested. The “Vecchianese Summer” offers concerts, theatre performances and open air cinema.Placed at less than 10 km far from Pisa and 15 from Lucca, the Casina al Monte has a strategic position. For people loving sea, Marina di Vecchiano, with its wild sandy beach, is just 10 km far. Marina di Vecchiano is placed inside San Rossore Natural Park and there are three bathing facilities and many kilometres of free beach. Here you can enjoy sandy dunes, with spontaneous bushes, well described, by the famous Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio and the “macchia mediterranea”, surrounding walk the seaside.If you wish to spend a fashionable holiday full of shopping and parties, you reach in 20 km the Versiliashire, 20 Km-far, with: The “Passeggiata” of Viareggio, a famous street along the seaside with Art Deco buildings, housing stores, cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops for every taste…but not for any wallet. During the Carnival, many allegorical wagons are on this street,·
Forte dei Marmi, full of trendy clubs where night and day are inverted and summer and winter have no limits.
THE OWNERS
Owners of “Casina al Monte” are Oreste the bizarre, former hospital chief attendant and his wife, Orlanda. Since his retirement, Oreste takes care of its “oliveto” (olive trees yard), surrounding the house and he passionately projected and coordinated the works to accomplish his “Little jewel”. Orlanda is a former school teacher and good cook.
THE COORDINATOR
Silvia, the owners’ daughter sponsored the holiday home project. She works as a chemist, and is keen on travels, and foreign cultures and languages. Silvia works with passion to this adventure because of her wish to meet new people, offering them a house for their holidays and leisure time. She will be happy to receive you in her “Casina”, happy to tell you curiosities, giving you information, advices or any help…like feeling on holiday, she too …. Italian people will be helped by her mum, completely available to suggests guiding leisure or tourist trips and telling you some history and stories about our places.
